The Robert Chinn Foundation inducts prominent individuals of Asian Pacific Islander descent who have contributed in a positive way to the American experience.

This year, the Board of Directors is pleased to announce the following inductees for 2011...


Dr. Connie Mariano
(RADM, US Navy, Retired) 

Dr. Connie Mariano served as former White House physician under President William Jefferson Clinton and President George W. Bush and is the first Asian Pacific American to hold the post. Dr. Mariano is also first Filipina American to hold flag rank in the US Navy. Currently, Dr. Mariano is a resident of Arizona where she has a private practice and is the author of the recently released book “White House Doctor.”


Richard Cho, General Manager, Charlotte Bobcats
Richard Cho will be honored as the first General Manager of Asian American descent of a major NBA franchise.  Mr. Cho is originally from the Pacific Northwest prior to taking his position with the Bobcats.


Teddy Zee, Hollywood Entertainment Executive & Producer
Teddy Zee has been in the field of entertainment working in major Hollywood companies for over 25 years to include President of Sony-based Overbrook Films and Fox-based Davis Entertainment as well as producer of films such as “Hitch” and “Pursuit of Happyness.”    He is a long time champion for Asian American presence in American film and television.


This years honorees will be  inducted on
Saturday, November 19, 2011, 6:00 p.m. at the
Asian Resource Center.
