PHILANTHROPIC PROGRAM

Empowering women since 2020 through education, grants, and executive networks. This philanthropic program champions confidence and opportunity for women. Every $100 raised directs $10 to advance women’s pathways in tech, entertainment, and sports, funding scholarships, technical grants, work stipends, and the Second Chance Program.

Founded in 2020

10% of every $100 raised supports Asian Hall of Fame’s remarkable pathway that advances confidence in women in tech, entertainment, and athletics. Through a comprehensive approach, the program offers education and workforce development grants, then connects women with paid projects and executive networks. Proceeds from this year’s season equip women with support and funds scholarships, technical grants, and work stipends.

Second Chance Program

The fund’s Second Chance Program supports single mothers and women who have experienced homelessness, teenage pregnancy, and other interruptions to their education. This crucial lifeline enables women to rebuild their lives and contribute to their communities.

Julia S. Gouw Asian Women in Entertainment Prize

The first endowed prize of its kind in the United States, the prestigious accolade is endowed by Inductee Julia S. Gouw. It includes a generous grant and a unique opportunity to feature in a documentary, cultivating respect for dedicated Asian women in the entertainment industry.

The first endowed prize of its kind in the United States, the prestigious accolade is endowed by Inductee Julia S. Gouw. It includes a generous grant and a unique opportunity to feature in a documentary, cultivating respect for dedicated Asian women in the entertainment industry.

2024 RECIPIENT

Kieu Chinh

The legendary Vietnamese-American actress with over five decades of international contributions to the motion picture industry from Vietnam to China, India and Hollywood. Appeared in more than 100 films and TV shows such as M*A*S*H and The Joy Luck Club, and the HBO Max TV limit series: The Sympathizer.

Kieu-Chinh has received numerous accolades and awards throughout her career including: Best Actress of South Vietnam (1969), Asian Film Festival in Taipei (1972), Cinema Delle Donne Film Festival in Italy (2003), Lifetime Achievement Award from: Vietnamese International Film Festival (2003), San Diego Film Festival (2006), San Francisco Film Festival of the Globe (2015), and Asian World Film Festival (2021).

The documentary “Kieu-Chinh: A Journey Home”by Fox TV earned an Emmy Award in 1996. In 2017, Kieu-Chinh received a Congressional Record award from the United States Government. Kieu-Chinh was owner CEO of GIAO CHI Film Company, Executive Producer, in Saigon, Vietnam before 1975, and Co-Producer in USA. She is also the president, co-chair, and co-founder of the Vietnam Children’s Fund (VCF) along with journalist Terry Anderson. This non-profit organization has built more than 50 schools in Vietnam providing education annually for more than 40,000 students.
