To advance humanitarian platforms, Asian Hall of Fame expands their 19th Annual Induction Ceremony to benefit crisis relief for Israel in addition to Academy Fellows. The Class of 2023 will be inducted on October 21, 2023, at the Biltmore Los Angeles.

“Asian and Indigenous achievements, service, and leadership contribute immensely to the prominence of the United States and dignity of our world. This year’s Asian Hall of Fame Inductees exemplify courage and compassion for a more inspiredcivilization to come,” states Maki Hsieh, President & CEO of Asian Hall of Fame. Ms. Hsieh is also a Recording Academy member and the only Asian board member in the ADL Regional Board.

Seattle music icons of Nirvana, Soundgarden, and Pearl Jam honored rock musician Kim Thayil and U.S. Navy Cross veteran Kiet Nguyen, Port of Seattle Commissioner President Sam Cho, Senator Marilyn Strickland, and Superbowl champion Doug Baldwin Jr. at a sold-out Seattle Founders Gala benefit for the Academy, a workforce program for diversity and neurodivergent fellows.

MacKenzie Scott is formerly married to Amazon founder Jeff Bezos and pledged to award $33 billion to charities that satisfy her criteria for two years. Asian Hall of Fame qualified last year and must have a profitable operating budget of $1 - $5 million this year to qualify for her grant of $1 - $50 million. Asian Hall of Fame has raised $1 million so far and needs to raise $500,000 by December 15. If this goal is met, an anonymous media and entertainment CEO will donate $1 million to help Asian Hall of Fame qualify for the MacKenzie Scott Challenge.

In response to the wildfires on Maui, Asian Hall of Fame has activated its Trauma Advocacy Initiative. Their website is directing support to the Council for Native Hawaiian Advancement, and proceeds from its Season Preview Event at The Glenmark will provide shelter, food, and medical supplies through the Kākoʻo Maui Fund.

To overcome bias against Asian and Indigenous communities, the Asian Hall of Fame announced that its Trauma Advocacy Initiative will focus legislative advancement on four policy issues. Leading the initiative are Founders/Co-Chairs Inductee Major General Tony Taguba and Inductee Ren Hanami.

Three mass shootings in three days have prompted Asian Hall of Fame to activate its Trauma Advocacy Initiative. Sympathy packages with candles and wellness items will be delivered to local leaders in Monterey Park and Half Moon Bay for distribution.
