Fiona Ma is California’s 34th State Treasurer. She was elected on November 6, 2018 with more votes than any other candidate for treasurer in the state's history. She is the first woman of color and the first woman Certified Public Accountant (CPA) elected to the position. Before being elected Treasurer, she was an elected member of the California Board of Equalization from 2015-2019. Treasurer Ma was also a member of the State Assembly from 2006-2012. From 2002-2006, she served on the San Francisco Board of Supervisors and championed a human rights campaign to end human trafficking. Treasurer Ma has been a licensed CPA in California since 1992. In 2025, Treasurer Ma will be inducted into Asian Hall of Fame Class of 2025.
